“Perdy’s Dream Comes True” Wins An Award

Perdy’s Dream Comes True and so does mine.

I may have taken a page from Perdy’s book (pun intended) and manifested this award. When I did my submissions, I imagined waking up to a “Congratulations, you’ve won” email in my inbox. And, voila! It happened.

The Golden Wizard Book Prize 2023 Winner

Before I flatterED myself

You win an award and immediately the “imposter syndrome” kicks in. Is it really a big deal? Do they give it to everyone? What did they even evaluate my book on? So, I checked with the Golden Wizard Book Prize team. In their own words, “The evaluation team largely uses a scorecard system alongside open feedback. Criteria include: engagement, interesting and varied language, relatable characters, developmental accuracy, emotional learning and more. It is an international system and only accepts books in English.

IT IS A BIG DEAL

I am putting this in writing probably to remind myself that I am worth it. Being a busy corporate Mom, I decided to pursue this path after being inspired by my 4 year old. Went through a rollercoaster ride to get the book published and won an award. Some call it knocking it out of the park, in the first hit. I will take it! :)

If you too are feeling the Imposter syndrome, you must have done something pretty awesome to not be able to handle feeling wowed by yourself. Imposter syndrome is a sign that you’re awesome! If you’re dealing with it and need some tips on how to overcome it, feel free to reach out.
